We travel to Wallace Rockhole, taking in the West MacDonnell Ranges scenic beauty along the way. Morning tea is enjoyed on arrival. Then we are taken on a guided Rockhole tour, experiencing unique carved rock art and learning about bush medicine and bush tucker (food).
After the Rockhole walk we sample some kangaroo and freshly baked damper. We then sit down and participate in an amazing Aboriginal dot painting experience, which gives people a better understanding of the Aboriginal art and culture that dates back thousands of years.
After lunch at Wallace Rockhole we drive to Hermannsburg Heritage Precinct, the first Aboriginal mission in the territory. See the historic Lutheran mission buildings and enjoy the Hermannsburg Watercolour Gallery.
Afternoon tea, consisting of Hermannsburg?s infamous apple strudel and scones, will be served on the deck, allowing you to take in the beautiful surroundings.
On route back to Alice Springs we stop for a short break at Simpsons Gap, we may be lucky enough to see rock wallabies for a photo opportunity.
To finish off the day in thorough outback style, why not take in an optional sunset camel ride, offering sweeping views across the MacDonnell Ranges ($60/person).
